Re: Entrepreneur-friendly banks?
I have been checking Finnvera before but the industry I am interested in is not covered by the programmes. The industry in question is real estate development. So that means, Finnvera is not an option for financing.
As far as knowing bank directors, I don't know any one here so that may complicate things.
Can you think of any banks that are gentle to entrepreneurs?

Most of the banks are into property development and real estate themselves, so they might see your great business idea as a threat...
I think you just have to visit them all and see for yourself. Start-up loans are always on a case by case basis.

Answer to this question is "None are friendly". But, this can vary from case to case basis. Finnvera was an option. These fellows do help or atleast try to help. But, in your case I think it is out of their scope.mphilippe wrote:In your opinion, which banks operating in Finland has the reputation for allocating business loans to starting entrepreneurs?
Knowing the bank manager or an influential employee is the key. I have experience of having put to 10keur as colateral for a loan of 15keur. As I am of foreign origin and donot have a permanent status though I have a permanent job with a reasonable salary. Ofcourse, it came with a condition that I pay it back within a certain duration. Which I did!!!
Here are the following check points:
1. Are you a Finnish citizen? If you are it will be easy. I have experienced it myself. It is not a complain it is a fact.
2. Do you have colateral?
Real estate is a big thing (i have no idea) so best of luck!!!
