need a cabin accessible by public transit

Post by LeahGG » Wed Jun 23, 2010 2:40 pm

Hi All,

Sorry to bug you...

My husband booked our tickets wrong and we're now going to be in Finland an extra week, and we hadn't really budgeted for it. (tried to change the tix, but there are no seats available)

So now we are looking for a place to stay for 8.1 to 8.8. We'll go pretty much anywhere in Finland as long as 1. it's a nice place - the accommodations don't need to be gorgeous, but clean would be good. There should be something to do - swimming, biking, hiking, berry-picking, whatever. 2. We can get a fridge. 3. It'll sleep 4 (2 adults, a 3-y-o, and a 1.5-y-o) 4. There's a supermarket nearby. 5. It's accessible by public transit... since neither my husband nor I has a driver's license.

We're staying in Linnunlahti for one week, but they close on August first...

Anyone know of anything under 400 Euro a week?
Is this location accessible by public transit? I feel like I don't even know how to look at a map properly...(feeling sooo stupid...)

thanks,
Leah

P.S. If any of you ever visit Israel and need help, let me know.

Hi!
Your last question is about Rastila Camping in Helsinki, and if it's accessible by public transportation.

The situation couldn't be better! The Helsinki Underground (Metro) will take you all the way as to the gates of this camping site. See aerial photo here with Metro station in the foreground, and Rastila gate is behind that.

Hope this helps!

If I had to choose between Rastila and Heinäsaari it would definitely be Heinäsaari. Unless of course if I wanted to tour Helsinki.

8.1 to 8.8. ... thats like 7 months  so try reserving 1.8 - 8.8... Rastila in Helsinki is definitely "accessable" so if you want to explore the city you can get around and still live "out in a cabin".
