Irish guy looking for work
Irish guy looking for work
hey, i have been in finland for a month unemployed now and i am finding it very hard to find some work. I came here because my girlfriend is from here and i am afraid i will have to book a flight home because of the lack of work. I had a job set up in a bar before i arrived and when i arrived the bar was closed down?. I joined an agency called staff plus and i got 2 days work from them and i have not heard from them in 2 weeks now. I have walked the length and breath of helsinki handing out cv's and i have heard nothing back. My skills are in the catering industry as a bar man, a waiter or a chef and i have a lot of experience, i also have a certificate in culinary arts. But i am prepared to do anything for money. I am 20 years old, my finish language is limited but i am learning. if anyone can help me out it would be much appreciated. thanks.

And of course your papers are in order?
Catering field tends to want to see papers like anniskelupassi (alcohol pass) and hygieniapassi (hygiene pass).

Receptionist might be something. Reminded me of Manuel when you said: my finish language is limited but i am learning.
The only way to cope here is some humour

Probably you know them already but www.mol.fi and other agencies gives you at least an idea, but it is very though as Ireland is at the moment I can imagine.

Ring them, remind them of you. The person who assigned you the work may be on holidays or may be so overwhelmed with applicants that your name is at the bottom of the list.stroup wrote: I joined an agency called staff plus and i got 2 days work from them and i have not heard from them in 2 weeks now.
