A good restaurant in Helsinki?

Post by mphilippe » Mon Jul 12, 2010 10:00 am

I am looking for a good place for a dinner with my wife in Helsinki. Ideally, it wouldn't be too expensive (i.e about 15-20€ per plate) and the food would be made in house. That's an important criteria because I hate when they serve straight from a can!

For this price range, I would have recommended Konstan Möljä, unfortunately it's closed for summer holidays and renovations.

You can search for restaurants on this nicely designed website : eat.fi

We know that each restaurant we enter, we experience a lot of things. I'd love to suggest the restaurant Nokka Helsinki. Reveiesw show that this sis a very good restaurant of every traveler.

Try Bistro on Korkeavuorenkatu / have been hearing very good things.

As for many other places, you can ask them not to bring the can to the table.

Given the weather, how about meritalli/mesteritalli on the water near sibelius monument.

Nice 'atmosphere' - but previous experience says it's a good idea to bring your own picnic basket along :(

Seems hasn't changed

Here's a review from this past Saturday on eat.fi:

This place is nice, traditional and not too expensive.

Probably can't go too wrong at Salve either --

Pretty much guaranteed quality are the silakat and wieninleike - don't expect low calorie food - the count pretty high on both - but basically good stuff.

You even get points on your S-bonus card. One of the few restaurants that S-Group took over that it didn't turn into pretty much 'nothing special.'
