Extra holidays when getting married?

Post by gfunho » Tue Jul 27, 2010 3:52 pm

Do you have the right of getting some extra holidays from work when getting married? I know the day you get married can be taken as a holiday itself , but what about some extra ones?

I know In some other european countries you get 2 extra weeks that you can use for arrangements and honeymoon.

But... what about finland?

It is just the day you get married, no honeymoons (unless unpayed, of course). People usually save some days from their summer holiday days.

I thought most gave two weeks about 9 months after the honeymoon?

In Spain is two weeks, and I think there is no limit :)

I am not too sure, but Portugal and France, and Italy might have also some days off.

In principle it is what ever it says in the työehtosopimus (collective labour agreement), but as mentioned already paid vacation for the actual day you get married and nothing else I think is the norm.
