Where are you really? Helsinki? Somewhere else?

PS anyone think it's weird that YLE would have two related stories, neither with any obviously new content, right after this discussion started? Reckon they're monitoring this site for "issues of concern"?
Oh right, now we have the medias monitoring this site and creating articles accordingly...

Here in Finland, I have done everything I can to blend-in with the Finns, I've changed my hair color, wore differnet clothes, got different

Well, you did have a journalist on here not so long ago asking about how foreigners are treated, and the site is open access, so it's not *that* far-fetched ;-)

Still wanting to know where jimsfc is describing btw :)

of course there will be from time to time the journalist asking for "foreigner's views" on here for an topic he is working on, but from that to creating articles based on topics discussed here is quite a way to go.

The press media and SUPO aren't as dense as they used to be. They do monitor. Theres actually a "society of nerds" the media watches regularly, the guys who during that school shooting had identified the killers name before the police even told the press theres something going on.

And this is on (it's actually the video version of the second link). In Finnish but you get part of the idea even without knowing the language:

In small towns the gossiping old ladies know everything you do before you do it
In a small town everybody know everything about you.
...even the things you didn't know about yourself...

I'm a single living male but according to local gossip I already have 4 different wifes and 2 children :D
But I don't mind, it's actually quite funny playing with the gossiping ladies...
