Multilinguism

Post by Enkelix » Sun Aug 15, 2010 6:08 pm

Hello to everyone... I've had this account for some good time but I never decided to create my own post until now...

In less than two months my son and I are moving to Finland to join my boyfriend -Our son was born here in Lima, Peru where we've remained his 4 months- and I'd like to get some advice on multilinguism issues. My mother tongue is Spanish and I've had some training in English, my boyfriend is naturally bilingual -although he's received education fully in Swedish- but we've always used English to communicate. Now, what about our baby? We've been told we should speak to him using our mother tongues and we agree on this, but what about Finnish? And English??

I'd like to say I'm willing to receive formal training in Finning and I'm looking forward to it since it's always been of my interest. Besides I know it'll be of much help during my stay there.

I hope there's someone who could give me a hand on this. I'm a first-time mum and I have so many worries and this situation is getting me a bit puzzled. Is there anyone here who's gone through a similar situation?

Thanks in advance.

Grace ;)

Hola Grace,

Saludos

llegas a Finlandia en invierno??
