You should try asking around in the city cent at restaurants for dishwashing jobs.... To tell you the truth, there is really nothing, very minimal and you have to speak some what Finnish. Most Finns are unemployed... But really just go to all the restaurants... Like all...not just 10 but try all! I went to around 27 restaurants and then by chance a friend's friend of mine asked me to work just a NYE ( one day) and then by chance 3 months later the manager called me up and wanted me to work full time as a waitress/kitchen help/ dishwasher. It took me from June 2009 till march 2010 to finally get a job.niutek89 wrote:I am student, and I'm looking for any job during the afternoons and weekends... Just keep trying but don't think you'll be getting a job so quickly.
Good luck.

A bit of an exageration, don't you think?MissAlice wrote:Most Finns are unemployed
Unemployment rate 7.3 per cent in August
According to Statistics Finland’s Labour Force Survey, the number of unemployed persons in August was 197,000, which was about 6,000 lower than one year ago. The unemployment rate was 7.3 per cent, or 0.3 percentage points lower than one year earlier. The number of employed persons was 21,000 higher than in last year's August.

Yes sorry for not saying students but most are unemployed but statistics are correct there are less unemployed but for example in the center or around where I work there is nothing that is free.tummansininen wrote:She probably meant "students". And depending on the locality, that still might be true.
But try and try hard
Good luck.
