Portuguese-English teacher

Terve...Hello...Ola!!!:)

My name is Mariana, I am a graduated Portuguese-English teacher now living in Finland. My mother tongue is Portuguese but I can speak fluent English, and I have good skills in Spanish language also. I have 5 years of experience in Teaching English as foreign language to Elementary and High school Students in Brazil, and teaching Portuguese to foreign businessmen in company as well. My last job in Brazil was school coordinator. I spent 1 month in Toronto-Canada and 6 months in London-UK, and now I am looking for any open position as Language teacher(Portuguese-English) in Finland. If anybody knows about any open position I would be really thankful in hearing from you, once I have been contacting the language schools I know around and have been sending my CV to them, but as I have been here just for 2 months and still dont know much about the country and where to go, I still feel a bit lost, even if I am doing all I can to feel socialized here..and I am already...I love the country:)

PS: I offer myself as private teacher also, if anybody gets interest just reply to this post!!!

Olá! No final deste mês juntarei-me a vocês na Finlândia dia 25 de Novembro. Acabei de me licenciar em Engenharia Aeroespacial mas ainda estou sem perspectivas de emprego. Estou neste momento a mandar CV’s etc.

Tenho mais algumas questões pertinentes… Que tipo de apoios posso esperar em termos do governo finlandês? Quais os documentos necessários? Se existe algum consulado português e onde fica? Comunidades portuguesas… existem?

Já agora vou viver em principio para Turku… se passarem por la avisem!

Hi, Mariana, accidentally i found this site and reading your post decided to say hi!
It is always exciting to be exposed to a different culture, so many things to learn and to add to our own culture. I can imagine how it has been for you to be living in a Northern country - quite a jump!
How did you manage to learn the local language and do you find people interested for learning Portuguese?

Acabei de ler este post e todas as respostas e fiquei com uma esperança renovada para com os meus planos de ir viver para a Finlândia!

Sou técnico de manutenção de aeronaves (TMA) na TAP em Lisboa, mas estou completamente perdido em relação a quem onde e como procurar trabalho nesta posição na Finlândia. De qualquer modo já dei início à parte burocrática, licenças e afins e depois da papelada toda tratada, planeava enviar o meu CV para a Finnair.

Toda e qualquer dica/opinião seria muito importante para mim. Espero que todos estejam bem e tenham encontrado sucesso por ai. Desde já um grande obrigado!
