Work Hours

Post by casuallyrad » Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:06 am

Is there any law in Finland saying the minimum hours for a shift? I just got scheduled for 2 measley hours.
For example in Canada I know shifts have to be longer than 4 hours or both the boss and employee must have arranged it beforehand.

Short answer: no. At least työaikalaki doesn't mention anything but maximums.
Long answer: there might be something in the collective agreement, ask more from your union.

its only a gentalman agreement that says a shift should´nt be less then 4 hours. Basically you could be hired for just a few minutes. But the time shedule must be done 2 weeks in advance.
