A good hair salon or stylist in Helsinki?

Please recommend a good hair salon or hair stylist in Helsinki. Which salons are considered the best? Need hair color, highlights, haircut. Price not important, quality is. Thanks a lot!

It's on the 7th floor of Stockmann department store at Helsinki city center. Mikko there cuts excellent hair.

Did you try Redken? I wanted to go there myself but it would be nice to know someone who has been there. Also, what price should I expect for coulour, highlights and nice cut?

In the end I went to The Hair by Redken at Stockmann. The service was really good, they did exaclty what I was looking for. I would say the experience was worth the high price (though not higher than in other chic places in other European cities). I would surely recommend it, especially for coulour and highlights, they know everything about it!

I would also recommend Mikko at The Hair by Redken Loft.

After far too many disastrous experiences at hairdressers in Porvoo I decided to splash out and go for Redken Loft.

It was the best salon experience i've had to date. Mikko was very very knowledgeable, especially about colour. And of course speaks perfect English. Really listened to what wanted. Perfect and very happy with the results.

The price was just over 100 euros for half head foils, toner, cut and I had a freebie Redken Hair Chemistry treatment. Well worth the money.

Elizabeth Skogster is awesome- she's in Munkkiniemi, is very affordable, and uses Goldwell products/color. My full highlight, cut and blow dry was 85 Euro; I should note that I'm a blonde with platinum tones, and she knew just what color to use. It's remarkable how similar her process is to that of my stylist in the States. Her English isn't perfect, but she gets by; as when you go to any stylist, bringing a picture of the color or cut you want helps. Also, she owns the salon if that tells you anything.

The previous place I was using started have staff problems. Huge turnover and nobody remembered me visit to visit

= lousy service.

At this place they remember me

Although they can speak English, I do all my business in Finnish (good practice for me!).

Pricing level is comparable with anywhere else, good range of products to go as well.

I was visiting Mikko in Stockmann's but he has recently left (works at the MAC counter there now). Last time I saw him he said he might go back to the salon part time. I have gone to a lovely girl, Helena, at West Hair at Iso Omena. Good service, perfect English, and a decent cut/colour. The only down side was that is was reasonably expensive...180E (I have really long hair though).
