Looking for a nice place to start a restaurant - Helsinki

Post by Kaley » Sun Dec 19, 2010 12:40 am

Folks, I am looking for a nice small place to start a restaurant. Nothing very fancy but a good location. Helsinki is my preferred area of interest.

If you have any leads - do write to me at enterprise.fin@gmail.com

Thx

Question #2. Working class people or affluent, upper class people?
Question #3. Fast food or ethnic food?

check out www.actival.fi. they sell restaurants all the time. other good source is www.tori.fi. But whenever you get an offer from someone, check first with the healtdepartment if the place is in order. you wouldn't belive how many illegal restaurants exist in helsinki. also watch out what you are allowed to do in a particular location, like frying in an open pan is often not possible.

Hi..

Do you have any idea where we can get more information on those restrictions about cooking styles in a restaurant? Like the one you mentioned- 'frying in open pan'

Thanks

Here are some general guidelines (in Finnish); http://www.ouka.fi/ymparisto/ymparistot ... stohje.htm . There are links at the bottom of the page to associated legislation, if you want to search English translations from http://www.finlex.fi/en/ .

Wow,

That is a fair bit of info..Thanks a lot folks. Here is wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.

Ok about the Restaurant, I plan to start a simple no frill restaurant that caters to the masses, working lunch, takeaway snacks, healthy stuff, possibilities are many.

I just need a nice place in downtown Helsinki which is easily accessible to people. A good location is what I need.

Thanks for all the compliance related info you have posted folks. Appreciate it.

warm regards

K
