Seeking advice.

Post by QUINCY » Thu Dec 30, 2010 8:04 pm

I have being offered a training program (Sosiaali- ja terveysalan tutkintoihin valmentava koulutus maahanmuuttajille) as part of the integration plans by the employment office, although i am a graduate of accounting from my country of origin, i have spent most of the time ever since i moved over to Finland in search of jobs but have not found any due to my Finnish language skills and i have also taking the time to take the Suomen kieli kurssi and now i am in level A2.1.

My question is will a training like (Sosiaali- ja terveysalan tutkintoihin valmentava koulutus maahanmuuttajille),after spending 1 year as the duration of the training put me on a fast track of securing a job even if i do not mind changing my profession as an accountant ?

What are other possible options please ?

Kiitos.

It will give you one year of extra training your Finnish skills, build up your network and show potential employers you're willing to take action instead of sit and wait. So your chances should improve. But it is not a guarantee for a job and fast track might be overly optimistic.

They put you to this?

(not necessarily exactly that course, but with the same content).

It is supposed to improve your Finnish sufficiently to get enrolled studies at social & health sector or (alternatively) to get into low level jobs within the same branch. It is supposed to be for people having already some relevant experience (or degree) in their home country.

Presumably it would improve your Finnish, it would be fast track for an accountant for nothing...

(Personally I have no high regard of these integration programs. Seems there is not much need to change my opinion...)

Just make absopositively sure you can say no to the course. In some cases they mark "refused" and it takes 3 months to get back on getting money if you get quarantined for refusing. So do not think, believe but make sure you don't get a quarantine dealing with those guys. Social and welfare, well bus driver is next.
