Divorce

Post by aklamerica » Wed Dec 15, 2010 5:41 am

So I'm really stressed out.
I got married in May, in Finland after living there for 2 years to a man I met there.
I ended up making a really poor decision. Without my friends and family to see my situation, I got married.

I moved back home a little while ago to the United States. I'm with my friends and family again and I've realized the mistake I have made.

I'm trying to get a divorce but my husband is being incredibly difficult.
He's a nice guy I suppose, just not for me.

I want a divorce and I've been reading about it but I haven't found any forms or anything to download or something of the sort to actually send in an application for divorce.

Can anyone help me?

You have to be married for 2 years before you can divorce.
But it is indeed just filling out the form, wait half a year (or until 2 years of marriage) and you're free again.
Since you're in the US now, it might be a good idea to hire a Finnish lawyer to handle the paperwork.

I can't find any other time limitations than 6 months or 2 years separation.

Just found this;

Maybe it would be easier/possible to do it from the US?
