Necessity of Finnish Language for hotel industry

Hello everyone. is it necessary to speak Finnish fluently to get job in the hotel and restaurants in Finland? what do you guys say? Any experiences?

I don't work at that field, but with jobs having interaction with the customers, I'd say speaking Finnish is pretty much a requirement. With other types of jobs you may get away with being less fluent, but there's no culture like the Spanish-speaking kitchen staffs in the US.

Especially in Lapland the tourist resorts like to have staff that can speak different languages. Fluency of Finnish has a less high priority.
And for functions not in direct contact with the clients, the language demands also can be less stringent. But in that case you have to bring something "extra" to your trade skill.
