Language courses

Post by rrothhav » Tue Mar 22, 2011 2:38 pm

Hi! :)
I am wondering if anyone would be able to provide me with information on language course locations in the Vantaa area. I've had really bad luck with teachers, my last course taught the class in Russian (I speak a little, but why learn Finnish in Russian), and the one I'm taking now, the instructor rants about Kela constantly. And for some reason, in English. Since English is my mother tongue, and I'll further Russian studies later, I just want advice on a GOOD language course. I don't have a lot of money to keep spending on unsuccessful courses, and its so important to me to really learn the language. I have a job, but I've never understood how people can move here without bothering to learn the language. I've already been to Vantaa Adult Education, and I'm not eligible for Kela courses since I'm employed.
Has anyone had any good courses they would suggest?
Maybe something a couple times a week, with a teacher that actually teaches. I've been browsing the threads but want a little more personalized advice. thanks in advance!

Thanks! Doing some online courses now, and its a huge help.
Also I'll be going to school part time in the fall so I can try one of the intensive courses the university offers :D
Come hell or high water, one day I will be fluent.
:D
