Finnish TV program for Finnish children?

Post by littlemonyou » Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:19 pm

Hello,

I am looking for Finnish TV program for Finnish children. Are there any Finnish children programs like sesame street in the USA? Actually I am trying to learn Finnish language, and I would like to try with the way you learn your mother tongue. I watch some Finnish animation like Moomin or Pasila, but then I thought of watching program for more younger children.

I tried to find in Youtube by typing "Finnish" or "Finnish for children", turns out I couldn't find one.

Any help would be appreciated, kiitos.

The keyword you’re looking for is lastenohjelma or lastenohjelmat.

Try here for some older ones:

This is assuming you are actually already in Finland. You can't watch anything other than news on YLE outside of Finland.

I tried to learn Finnish in London, went thru the Finnish Church. The teacher was dyslexic so confusing all round.
You would have thought the government would have free - learn Finnish website, downloads on itunes or podcasts. All aimed at making it easier to learn the structure of Finland easier before you land.

You can go to a language course here thru the unemployment/kela

Check anifriend on YouTube. The user has Seitsemän pientä hiirtä, Pikku Ponit and some other stuff. :) I watch My Little Pony with my niece, she loves it despite the awful dub, hehe.

Also check out karviskissa on YouTube! Many excellent nostalgy trips like a couple of episodes of Tao Tao and Peukaloisen retket. Also some newer stuff.
