Well when englishman call us "miserable cnuts" i have to put on my monocle and bowler hat, take sip of tea and answer accordingly
I have behave tho since here is lot of people in this building and across a street is "service house", i dont want to cause any heatattacks :)

Seems behaving didnt go so well in biggest border city, reports say that some fights, one overrun, burning swedish flag and general misbehaviour occured. Swedish police said they did want to close border but cant and they are happy that winning is so rare

"some yankee called abroad "clearly confused" that finns won icehockey world championship and "was like" "i wouldn't call this a riot... i mean, nobody is smashing anything... people are just... you wouldn't believe this."

You can also look that thread in here where one asked wtf people were doing yelling and running around in sunday night :D

One member of the coaching squad was so happy to get home he kissed the tarmac, and also seemed keen to get an imprint of the World Championship trophy on his forehead.
Must have been those patent leather soles - they can be very dicey.

Said member of coaching team is also allegedly a celebrated coach driver.
But of course we mustn't be all floral-hatted, and we must permit, nay positively encourage the lads to get absolutely falling-down sh it-faced so they cannot actually remember where they were when the trophy was paraded to the adoring fans.

But this is not supposed to happen again. The Vancouver Police have learned from the past and have increased their presence during the playoffs. Here is a quote from the VPD report to the Vancouver City Counsil:

The following is the estimated cost for policing the 2011 hockey playoffs based on the current 2011 rate of pay for members at a straight overtime pay rate. This estimate is based on the assumption that each series will go the maximum seven games.

The estimates for each round are:

Estimate for Round 1 is $32,884
Estimate for Round 2 is $42,254
Estimate for Round 3 is $145,202
Estimate for Round 4 (Finals) is $427,931
Total estimate for 2011 Playoffs is $648,271

This is the expected minimum cost of the deployment. The cost may rise based on fan reaction; however, this cost may be reduced should one or more of the series end in fewer than seven games.

Of course the longer the Canucks are in the playoffs, the greater the revenue for businesses, including the government owned liquor stores.

But it's all about the sport :D

I know this is old news in Finland and has already been posted above, but now the news has even made it to western Canada... Something to take pride in, I guess...

Yeah...that's it. Except what those misguided people who actually SUPPORT multiculturalism don't realize is that it is a very devious plot to cause them let down their guard, and in that way they are easier to assimilate....

Well i think multiculturalist actually think that people hold same basic values and cant see that way we think is far from "universal truth" and they dont see, or want to see, that culture is far more than different food.
