how a master's student can get a part time job?

hello,

My name is Trenesa.This year I have been accepted in Tampere University in the international masters program and my husband has been accepted in
Aalto university. We live in Bangladesh.If we get residence permit ,we will move to Finland by 1st august 2011.

I have a BSc degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and I am a lecturer in an university in Bangladesh. With this background can I hope to get a suitable part time job which do match very much with my BSc degree? The residence permit we are applying for has a work permit up to 25 hours/week.

Please answer me.To ensure my living expense I have to work from 2nd August 2011 if possible.

You arent getting permit so problem solved.

Stupid answer Onkko. To my idea she will get a permit to study here and she can work as part-time. These are the people Finland need you .... These people have studied and are for me more then welcome. If you rather have your house etc. robbed by East-europeans it is your call. Welcome Trenesa! First step for you is to look at http://www.mol.fi, jobcenter. It will not be not easy but Finland is full of IT. I am also not in favour of the excesses of Multiculti but these people come here total legally and want to work. This is not the case for the groups who come to search first for the benefits and after that demand that you have to provide their way of living in their homecountry.

It completely depends if they can show migri the cash they need for the application (2x €6000,- ?)
Since Amn seems to need money desperately, it is not strange to assume the application will be denied.

As for the chance for part time work on your educational level, they are practically nil (assuming you don't speak fluent Finnish yet).

I think she has understood the requirements, she just wants to know what are the possibilities for her to work here. And yes they are not so good on her education level but she might look for jobs under her level especially when it is part-time.

Even if you manage to fulfill the visa / residence permits requirements, the fact that you areonly have a B.Sc., and are only available for part time work, and don't speak Finnish will all be stacked against you in finding work here. You will be competing with Finns who are available full time and have a Master's degree.

Unless you have some niche skills or specialisation which make you very attractive to employers, I wouldn't rate your chances too highly.

@ Amn, although some of the answers might have sounded harsh, but honestly this forum is a small scale of how hard is it here .i am in my final year in electrical engineering as well, and i can fairly tell you its near to impossible to find a job with no Finnish skills at conversational level.that ,let alone the high level of technology and accuracy makes employers reluctant on hiring someone from a different country how may not execute work up to their expectation .
as Rick1 mentioned , you can however find part time jobs if you spent 2 hours a day looking , your chances are limited to cleaning jobs and maybe babysitting (if you are lucky).
if you were in IT that would have been another story as it is really booming in Finland. software testing , data base ,GUI,.net
and extra , my advice would be for you to learn about test automation , and some lively programing language while you await your visa .good luck to you and your husband
