Do you have insurance? E.g. In case you spill a chemical in someone's eyes..

:) wow i don't have that kind of insurance but maybe i should apply for that if you guys help where to find that , but that s a scarce accident , and i think that is not something that can be solved by insurance money ! that is a matter of someone's health :( !! never happened and hope never happens in future cause that's a lame amateur accident !

Yup that's a scarce incident, but so is crashing your car. :) But seriously, having the correct insurance is as much for your protection as the customer's. A customer might have a bad reaction to a hair chemical, and all their hair falls out. Maybe your hand slips and they lose a piece of ear. Liability insurance for you might be a good idea :) however unlikely the risk.....

(I won't let you anywhere near my hair unless you are insured :) )

:D hehe ok i wont touch your head , and will wait till i have my insurance and will do something wrong by purpose so that you can go claim for the insurance ;)
:) you sound very Finnish to me have a good evening :)

Hi!
I too am an English (only English) speaking hairdresser. I just moved to Tampere were my fiance is attending University. I am hoping to work in the field here. How did you end up finding a job and how is it working out? I have gone into a couple of shops and they didn't seem too interested, as I do not speak Finnish. Is there any market for a native English speaking hairdresser?

Please, any information would help!

Thanks
Susie

Hi susie ,
Unfortunately i don't have any good news in this case :( I am not sure about the case in tampere , but in Jyvaskyla which is smaller than tampere and more multicultural and everyone is able to speak English, it is very hard to have an opportunity to find a job at all , i am working for my friends right now at school and everyone i know, cauz i started with really cheap price and at least they are going to be my permanent clients but still not a huge progress . I love this job and it s not only a job for me , can be hobby too , so in all , the only thing i can tell you is to start getting to know people and tell them personally.
hope you be more successful than me :) if you found a way for this matter getting better , please let me know too.
cheers,
-H
