STUDENT WITH FAMILY

Post by agape2011 » Mon Aug 15, 2011 12:03 am

HI,
Am new to this forum,am impressed by the resourcefulness of the forum as I have gained quite a lot of info from it.
I am applying for 2012 intake to one of the UAS.I have quite a number of questions to ask most of which I have been unable to get answers even from migri.fi
1.My wife and I are applying for a degree program for 2012 intake. The issue is we have a young daughter who will turn 4 years at the time of commencing studies in August 2012.My question can the baby factor hinder or reduce chances of getting PR?
2.If not,how do we present our PR application to the embassy? Or what special requirements are we supposed to meet in regards to PR application considering that a baby is in the picture?
3.Does anyone know of a similar case as ours and how it was handled?
Looking forward to get your advice and takes on our issues.

Hello MissK,
Thanks for the info. Its encouraging to know that its possible so long we meet income requirement. we had not come across the income requirement for family dependant.
Do you know about day cares and costs therein? I have read about municipal and private day cares and that the former only caters for residents with Fixed tern PR class A and not temporary fixed term PR as in the case of a student. How true is this, could you be having more insight on the same.
Again,
Thanks .

Could you use RP for Residence Permit and PR for Permanent Residence.

Quick googling suggests that if you get "home county" (kotikunta) you get also municipal day care. Registry offices give you home county either straight away or after a year (helsinki and espoo). Source: http://tinyurl.com/3nd79h5

Visa is for visiting, Residence Permit for residing.

yes I noticed some inconsistencies and also paragraphs that were hard to comprehend, anyway I get the drift and atleast have some insight on what to anticipate in regards to the matter. In interim,I will just make provisions for private day cares so that we are prepared for any eventuality.
Regards and asante sana (Kiswahili for thanks so much)
