How is your idea on the salary for a IT Consultant, 6 years of experience, with a master's degree, in Helsinki?

I applied for a job and I will have a salary negotiation, I would like to have more information before throwing any numbers.

Consultant in what area of IT, The term consultant nowadays covers such a large area it would be impossible to suggest a salary range without more information.

Somewhere between 4 and 6K per month, depending if you are working for one of the big guys or one of the many smaller companies struggling to stay in business.

And yes I am sure someone will come on here and tell me how all the consultants they know are earning at least double that, problem is I´ve never met any of them! and even given the stupid prices the consultancies charge I don´t see how they could afford to pay the rates that have been bandied around on here in the past!
