Job Seekers: Nannies and/or Ranch Hands
Two girls from Manitoba, Canada are looking to travel to Finland in September of 2012. We both are very hard workers and capable of doing many chores. Growing up in small prairie towns we know how to put in a hard days work. We know a lot about farming and horses, willing to herd cattle, or anything in need of herding. We are also both very good with children with years of experience.
We are wanting to travel to Finland (hopefully around Seinajoki area) to work for around 9 months or longer if needed. We are both great with animals and each own a dog of our own. We would love to bring them with us if allowed.
This is a dream of ours to be able to do this .. if you have any questions for us or could help us out in any way (example; know of people hiring, have a job for us yourselves, point us in the right direction, etc.) that would be so extremely appreciated.
Thank you so much for your time!

That made me chuckle. I have visions of you, crook in hand, rounding up flocks of wandering infants.Gena Giesbrecht wrote:willing to herd cattle, or anything in need of herding. We are also both very good with children
Good luck with your search. I can't help you specifically, but if you want to be in the Seinajoki area and you are good with animals you might try contacting Ähtäri zoo.

Have you searched 'polar bear ranching' or even 'penguin ranching' on the web?
or more seriously 'reindeer herding'... maybe you could apply for that as a job, including some tour guiding?

With sufficient thrust, pigs fly just fine.

On a more serious note...
It is not like the US or Canada where they have the 6 month limit.
Do you ladies know there is a 90 day limit when visiting Finland?
Have you applied for work permits? Not the easiest to get when not European.

And paid employment is not an acceptable way to spend that 90 days...Mita nyt wrote: Do you ladies know there is a 90 day limit when visiting Finland?

I wonder if they could get around the 90 day limit and working restrictions by getting an education visa and calling the ranching/herding "on the job training"?Rip wrote:And paid employment is not an acceptable way to spend that 90 days...Mita nyt wrote: Do you ladies know there is a 90 day limit when visiting Finland?
Socialism has never managed to create anything beyond corpses, poverty and oppression.

"1. I would like to enter Finland to study. What should I do?
In order to be granted a residence permit for studies, you must have a study place at a Finnish educational institution and your studies must lead to an occupation or degree. Residence permits can be granted for other than studies leading to an occupation or degree only for justified reasons."
