Asking about Residence Permit
Hello everyone,
I have a problem. My girlfriend was fined for stealing candy in K market 3 months ago. In fact, She forget to weight again after putting more candy into the bag and the police fined her 36eu. The problem here is now she is really worried about extending her residence permit for the next year because she is a student. Can she be extended for the residence permit? This is her first little crime but we are really worried about that.
Please help us.
Thank you.

Re: Asking about Residence Permit
There is no problem. She can extend her permit as long as she paid the fine and this offence will not have any effect on her permit extension. According to rule, petty fines dont effect.

And when did you become an expert?

Somewhere in between trolling and changing his mind about not wanting to come here maybe.
On the other hand I'm having a hard time realising if the OP's question is legit. You could always just try. Though I remember very specifically when I was reading the forum for the first time and asking questions myself that members here stated that there is pretty much 0 tolerance for law breaking of any kind.
Hence the reason why those with parking violations and such fly back to the forums here with questions as to its affect on their permit. Though I'm only speaking from the replies that I have read. None-the-less I think your wife should stop buying/eating candy. At the least just tell her to only buy the ones that are already wrapped..
I can't believe I'm replying to this thread lol.

Thank you everyone
Re: Asking about Residence Permit
Try and remember that she is really only a guest here... I can easily imagine if they want to go hard on her just for that reason.

Re: Asking about Residence Permit
If the OP is still reading: I don't really know. For one hand the crime isn't very severe, on the other students must be the ones that are easiest to throw out.

Re: Asking about Residence Permit
She is just a first year student. Therefore, if she won't be extended for her residence permit, her studying will be canceled. Are there any situation like my girlfriend before?
Re: Asking about Residence Permit
Fines are not taken into account as reasons for denying a RP. But as the situation is critical for a renewal (i.e. not enough study points) this crime might tip the scale. Nothing you can do about it now. Just make sure all the factors for the extension (money, study points, healthcare insurance) are ok.

Hi Mr.Nightmare,
One of my friends had to face similar kind of situation. Can I know did you able to renew your girlfriends RP? My friend is really worried
