Terve kaikille!
Just in case I write worse that I think: If I am at work, but less than 18 hours/week, then I don't qualify to be a customer of Kela. If I am sick, I can go to my employer's medical care. But, is a private insurance policy the only possibility to cover for a more serious illness that requires hospitalization? Is there a possibility to pay a monthly fee to Kela in order to be cover in case of hospitalization?
Thanks for you attention and time!
I will still write a little disclaimer: please notice that I am not complaining, I just want to be informed as much as possible. I understand that social security is not granted just like that to everybody and I understand why.
Toivoo,
Guillemo

Re: Medical coverage
Your finnish was understandable, of course you fckd up like i do my english but i had no problems on understanding.
You cant pay kela so only possibility is to get private insurance. I know there is some agreements between finland and spain but i think its only about retirees.
Honestly i dont know what would happen if EU member would get really ill and had to go in hospital, i know finnish system wont throw you out but i dont know who will pay. Probably you
There is agreements on pensioners so for example if finnish pensioner who lives in spain has to go in hospital then spain provides same healthcare as spaniards would receive and spain bills finland but i dont think that applies on others.
I think you should ask from your embassy if there is any agreements. Probably you need insurance or hope that youre lucky and wont need hospital.
