Áustralian looking for work

Post by lukemichael » Wed Feb 01, 2012 11:00 am

hello...

My name is Luke and i am looking for work. I have been living in Finland since April and recently married my Finnish girlfriend and obtained residency. We lived in the Fiskars area where i worked at Tahvoset Puutarha for 6 months finnishing for the winter (pardon the pun! ) Just moved into East Haaga and am looking for work in and around the area.

In Australia i travelled extensively living in 5 capital cities and many small towns. During this time i worked in many fields, doing many different jobs as well as some study along the way. I have enjoyed my lifestyle as it has afforded me the opportunity to try different things and meet a wide variety of people.

The range of jobs have varied widely from camel handler to retail manager, from fruit picking to logistics at an international resort. Most of the jobs have been for between a 3 and 9 month duration, often i have had several jobs at once and i have also worked for temping agencys which send you to different jobs all the time.

Below is a general list of fields i have worked in.

Hospitality
Resort work
Food and beverage
Construction
Retail
Labouring
Factory work
Manufacturing
Service work
Cleaning
Farming/fruit picking
Store and logistics

I have also studied Small Business and Horticulture vocational courses, attended a few years at 2 universities majoring in Advertising and Entrepreneurial degrees (although not finished), and various safety and induction courses through work.

Unfortunately my finnish is quite poor (my wife and her family speak great english), but i will be undertaking a language course soon. I am looking for work that is close and accessible to where we live (happy to travel if convienient) , pays well and starts straight away. As to the type of work i am very flexible and can adapt my work experience to most jobs.

If you have some work or hear of any work that might be suitable please let me know. I would be most willing to give specifics about my previous employment and experience, and tailor a CV as needed.

Thanks and warm regards,

Luke Hay

Try the airport!
http://www.ih.fi/ Ramp Services, email that guy.
http://www.airpro.fi/tyonhakijat Avoin hakemus Airpro/ RTG Ground Handling
There are other companies as well but i'm not sure if they are hiring anytime soon.
I work for ISS Aviation and there is another Aussie working for Inter Handling.
The pay is good and there is always work going, once you get in of course.
Good luck!

The company i work for won't be hiring anytime soon due to the yt neuvottelut that were held recently. Inter Handling would be a good gig due to their ticket benefits, however they pretty much only handle plane types that i hate...

As for horticulture, you really need to go a bit further to the boonies, the big one at Backas closed down a few years back.

the pursuiviant gets burnt whilst the defendants go free...the pursuiviant cannot be without the defendants, nor the defendants without the pursuivant...one you think you are the other you feel you dont want to be.
but
both are just actors playing on a screen
have you found the off button yet?
are you aware of that which just watches the tv
