Post by JamesDeLaShire » Mon Feb 20, 2012 2:06 pm

hei,

i've been told i need to get a finnish hygiene card if i want to continue working here,
i have my current english health certificate but apparently some things are different over here.

i've been on the Evira website and called them twice and i've been to the library to try and find the correct literature but no luck,
can anyone help?

has anybody else had to pass this and maybe know what book i need to get hold of?

kiitos

I did a SEFO prep course in the morning and then we all took the test in the afternoon. If I remember correctly everyone passed. I got the English language booklet from the tutor when I enrolled on the course/exam.

The SEFO booklet is well written, unlike the test questions (in English) which were rather ambiguous. In fact, the examiner showed us the Finnish version for a couple of the questions which were really difficult to understand. Maybe they have a new translator now as that was a few years ago.

There is nothing too difficult in the test - most of it is common sense. You need to memorise the temperatures for storing different types of food and you also need to know which bacteria infect which foods. If I remember correctly you need to score 36 out of 40 to pass (simple yes/no response to affirmations).
