"Is my liikenneturvallisuuden vaarantaminen considered as "convicted of an offence" in balhblah section myhmyh?

replace blahbalh as the name of the paper you are filling (reads in header) and myhmyh as the section number from the relevant paper. Also changing the name to your own would be appropriate.

ps. you got fine from a crime, so I'd guess that it is considered as "convicted of an offence", but I'm not working at migri so my opinion don't have much weight...

Thank you, Upphew.

Me and colleague of mine had bad experience in waiting for their replies for almost one months in the past.
But may be they are quicker now and I should try that.

Naturally if an applicant applies one month ahead in time (which is the norm in most residence permit extensions) then he can't tick that box. In this case will there be a risk of rejection?
Sorry for bumping an old thread, but how does this stuff actually work in practice? Hopefully some people could share their experience. Soon I need to go to the police and extend my 1 + 3 years residence with A status. And I'm rather puzzled by these forms and this "4 years" checkbox in particular.

What you dont understand? 4 years of A status is 4 years of A status. I dont see what possibly you cant understand.

Interpreting these forms literally, I'm not eligible to apply for permanent residence permit yet. Setting the "I have lived in Finland for four years or more on a continuous (A) residence permit" checkbox would be an obvious lie at the time of the form submission (which would be the same date as stated on the last page of the form). And submitting the form after the current residence permit expires is not allowed either. Technically, I could try to submit the form exactly on the last day of the current permit validity, but in my case it is going to be Saturday :)

Playing safe, I guess I need to apply for extending the status A residence permit first. And if they approve it, then submit a new permanent residence permit application right away. But this looks kind of silly and involves redundant activity and paperwork.

So I'm repeating the question. Did anybody have any practical experience getting permanent residence permit exactly on the borderline of the 4 years status A expiration?

I would have put an extension application in early (given a call to the local police station to get an estimate of the processing time), and then applied for the permanent permit after the four years is full. You pay the processing fee for one more application, but it would still seem less of a bummer than trying to do it "smart" and failing one way or another as it is some sort of borderline case.

Recently i am in a similar situation , earlier i got 1 year , and then 3 year A permits . i applied for permanent one this time , then officer told me , i will be eligible for permanent permit on a future date ( approx 3 months after the date of application), and he can hold the application till that date to make a decision if i am ok, and he gave a paper indicating receipt of application and told i can work normally if employer agrees. now after 3.5 months i got my permanent card via post.
