It could be studied out more but this simplified vat page shows that if your annual gross salary is under 8,500 you do not have to report it. http://www.worldwide-tax.com/finland/fin_other.asp
If you are a non EU citizen then your tax card/s info will show you more info.
If you have not got a tax card then i guess your under the radar.
Am I Liable to VAT ?
Re: Am I Liable to VAT ?
No, it says that if your annual REVENUE (ie turnover, ie income FROM TRADING) is under 8500e you do not have to register for VATcors187 wrote:It could be studied out more but this simplified vat page shows that if your annual gross salary is under 8,500 you do not have to report it. http://www.worldwide-tax.com/finland/fin_other.asp
ALL personal income (salaries and any/all other personal income) MUST be declared.
Tax cards only concern personal income. If you are a non EU citizen then your tax card/s info will show you more info.
If you are legally residing in Finland then you are not under the radar. If you have not got a tax card then i guess your under the radar.
VAT and income tax are totally different things. Company tax and personal income tax are also two totally different things.
Re: Am I Liable to VAT ?
Correction noted , i should have used the term revenue or income
Re: Am I Liable to VAT ?
In regards to the OP and my tax card statement , i just presumed that having no assets and being a non EU citizen that like myself at times just wander into the country for 3 months, set up an employee deal with a employer , get my tax card and still use the net to make money regardless of if i was in Finland or another country. If the money was put into his Non EU bank account the OP would not have income in Finland yet.

I think the OP is living in FInland (and his/her spouse is a student here).
If you are resident in Finland then it doesn't matter where you put the money you earn (ie Nordea, Barclays or National Bank of Dingdongland), or how you earn it. It has to be declared to Vero and is taxable. If the money was put into his Non EU bank account the OP would not have income in Finland yet.
If you are not resident here (ie just here on a tourist visa for three months) then it's nothing to do with Vero.
