Quitting a job

Post by sassanka » Fri Apr 20, 2012 7:48 am

Hello,

I have a one year contract with four month training period. However, since Im not satisfied with the job, I'd like to quit. The training period will come to an end on May 20th. I assume I may quite until this day without providing any reason for it, right? Or how does it work? There shouldnt be anything binding for me...or is it?
What are my duties going to be after I quit (tax office..?) I dont want to leave Finland, I will just start looking for a new place.

Thank you very much for your comments.

Training period or trial period? Withing trial period you can quit, and you can be fired, easily.

After quitting you should... well on what grounds you are here? EU or not?

In that case you should notify the authorities that you are unemployed. You might get unemployment money after the waiting period (three months), www.kela.fi.

The key word to search for I think should be "Koeaika".

Thank you very much! Yes, I found it is koeaika that I have in my contract. ..
However, I hope not to become unemployed and find something else. Besides Im not sure if I would have right for some unemployment money since the social coverage was based on this one year contract.
