Hello Finland,
Can someone tell me if there is a professional body, association or other organisation that represents professional bookkeepers in Finland?
I am Garry Carter, chief executive of The Institute of Certified Bookkeepers, started in the UK but now part of ICB Global, with members and students in 103 countries around the world.
I am in Helsinki next week as a panel member at the Entrepreneurs Day and would like to make contact with someone whilst I'm over. With colleagues from across Europe we have also set up the European Federation of Bookkeepers (EFoB) to represent EU bookkeeping organisations in the EU parliament.
Hope to hear from you.

In Finnish, the word for accountant and bookkeeper is the same: kirjanpitäjä (kirja=book)
The National Association of Finnish Accountants is here: http://www.taloushallintoliitto.fi/talo ... accountin/
There are contact details at the bottom of that page.
I think this is as close as you will get to an association of bookkeepers.
(Note that there is a separate association for auditors which is probably closer to something like the ICAEW)

Small companies do not need to appoint an auditor unless they meet more than one of the following criteria:
- sum of Balance Sheet is >Eur 100,000
- net income >200,000
- on average there are more than three employees
If that is the case they must appoint a chartered accountant "KHT" or "HTM" to audit the books. http://www.tem.fi/tilintarkastus
The links that Pursuivant gave above are for auditors, not bookkeepers/accountants (as per the Finnish "kirjanpitäjä" definition)
