Hi,

I am Sri Lankan but moved to the US when I was quite young. I live up North West Finland in Österbotten (Swedish speaking area). Where are you in Finland and do you speak Sinhalese or Tamil? Have you found many other Sri-Lankans here?

Hi

Welcome to Finland. I live in Helsinki which is quite far from you. I met few Sri Lankan lads here in Helsinki, but not as many as in the U.S ;) I am a Tamil, but I can manage Sinhala too. Drop me a message if you happen to be in Helsinki.

Cheers!

There are hardly any job opportunities for Finnish people these days, let alone for people who can't speak Finnish.

It's true only if you are looking for a specific job matching with your qualifications. But if you are willing to take any work, then there are always jobs available at least in all bigger cities. Open mol.fi pages of any big city and you'll find many open vacancies for cleaners. These are the jobs which are advertised for some reason, there are hundreds of more available which are never advertised.
