Is it easy to move to finland?

Ah yes, the happy Pakistani, Somali and so forth. Yes, they are quite happy with Finland. Or let's scratch that, they are often very unhappy with Finland not doing enough for them.

After all, for them it is just too much to go every month to KELA-office and be forced to mumble something resembling "give money". Or perhaps just stick hand palm up in demanding way if they have not yet bothered to learn to say the magic words.

Philippines who come here are mst commonly either imported wives (man takes care of stuff) or headhunted nurses (experiment which has quite nicely failed totally).

So yeah, I do complain. Because when that happy (or actually unhappy, too little money and too much expected to do in exchange of that money they think) immigrant cashes in their monthly pocket money, that comes from taxpayer money. I pay taxes, whole lot of them. And work my ass off, so some others do not need to.

Well, I am a foreigner (granted, I am from a well off country and according to the kunta I live in, I am not an immgrant, yet not a Fin.... What am I then? LOL). I've never 'held' my hand out for money, but have been offered quite a lot in the last couple of years, by means of help from services or actual money. I was recently offered the chance to pay my security deposit for my new rental place. You know what I did this time? I said 'no'. I have a fulltime job. Granted I earn less than the national average, but it's still quite a bit higher than someone who works in Alepa, for instance. I have no spare money, but I am able to support myself and my child. I said to the woman I couldn't take any more money as I felt guilty. The help I've gotten hasn't been for the normal stuff people go to social services for, food etc. It has been in the form of a lot of social service help for my son and payments regarding that. It has cost the kunta where I live 1000's of euros, all that they've done for my child and I.

I think the government should put their foot down. Until they do, crappy minded immigrants will take advantage of the system. So it is actually the government's own fault.

I must say though, if I were living in Australia I would have in no way gotten all I have from the Finnish system. Forget 5 months paid sickleave I had to be on one year (and the countless sick days before the long leave), I would have lost my job in Australia. Social services probably would have just taken my child from me if I lived back home. Or have had him medicated so much he was a zombie (no, he hasn't got ADD or anything of this nature). No, I don't abuse him, I don't neglect him, I am not a druggie or drinker. Just a bunch of small matters which combined make living bloody hard with a strong willed easily angered intelligent child and a mother who is the total opposite.

I think the Finnish system has been set up to help someone like me or other everyday Fins who need some support.

We vote the government in, or at least the paper pushers usually push the papers like the fools on the Arkadianmäki say. Only problem is that you have to vote PS to indicate "foot down".
