My guess is tourist.I came to Finland 10 days ago
My boyfriend
Im done with my bachelor's degree now
i would like to get a permanent job
@emilia:
Before you are allowed to work here, you need a residence permit. For getting one you need a job, a study place or be married to a Finn.
So if you find a job, the employer needs to do all the paperwork (showing he cannot find a suitable candidate in the EU) and then wait till your residence permit is processed (which can easily take half a year). How much chance do you think you have if you add your lack of Finnish to the equation?
First figure out if you can get a residence permit before you start job hunting. Because that will be fruitless.
Re: Job for Korean-English speaker
thanks for the replies!!
Im here on visitor's visa(tourist) which expires in 2 and a half months.
I did not know its that complicated. I thought the company will go through the working visas/permits but guess EU comes before non EU applicants.
it is looking harder now. so does that mean I cannot visit TE office unless i have residence permit here???
thanks !
Plus! is there any required qualifications for getting a residence permit?

You can visit them, but don't expect any help.so does that mean I cannot visit TE office unless i have residence permit here???
That is indeed a logical thought. But you have to find out first which Finnish companies do business with Korea. And if they need a representative in Finland.thats why I thought I really need to get Korean speaking job since EU candidates wont speak Korean.
(Korean companies dealing with Finland probably need Finnish speakers.)

What rinso said is true, rinso wrote: @emilia:

.
An employer must submit the vacant position to the scrutiny of the "employment office", and i believe the vacant position must be open to people in Finland who are looking for a job(this i was told is a minimum of 3 candidates) that need to be interviewed(i think the employment office has enough people out of work that will suit every facet of the job description you are being offered.
And after that ordeal the employer needs to provide sufficient information as to why you are needed and not the others.
But the good story of it all is LEGALLY , OR BY FIN LAW , the migri must issue you with a Temp resident visa(work permit) if the employment office gives the employer the OK to employ you.
So infact its not fruitless to look for work but the harvest time could be 6 months as rinso said.
My opinion is that you need to put in ground work now.
Re: Job for Korean-English speaker
It is not so, there might be a lot of other reasons to decline the application.cors187 wrote:But the good story of it all is LEGALLY , OR BY FIN LAW , the migri must issue you with a Temp resident visa(work permit) if the employment office gives the employer the OK to employ you.
For instance, the reason "you should wait for the residence permit not in Finland".
Re: Job for Korean-English speaker
You mean like if the applicant is a criminal in the EU, well you are right ,but all those potential reasons for rejection are dependent on the individual person.
