Male, 30, native English speaker desperately needs a job!

Post by upperreule » Fri Sep 28, 2012 12:31 pm

Hi all,

So i find myself-like so many others-in the position of hunting for a job in this beautiful country.

While i learn the language i am willing to do any type of work. I have a degree in Leisure and tourism and have worked extensively in this industry but would happily work with children as a manny or English tutor or with people with disabilities, which i have done for several years. I have good references and am flexible!

Please if you know of anything let me know:)

Class!
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Well, right there is the problem! In Finland, most people don't have that much time for leisure and/or tourism. How about learning to do some real work where you actually might get your hands dirty? :lightbulb:

Thanks macho man randy savage you could have struck on something there. I grew up on a dairy farm and enjoy a spot of milking. As i said i am willing to do and have done many types of work before, farming, maintenance, cleaning etc. But i would like it to be in Helsinki ideally.

Also Pursuivant, can i ask what your job entails that allows you so much time on the internet? Honest question. I have always wondered..

You have been registered in this forum how long? Oh, yeah, less than a month. So you really know how things work in Finland, and you´ve seen it all. Yeah. I rest my case.

Actually, I'm not that macho or savage either. I'm a registered professional Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor who speaks Finnish but I doubt I could get a job in Finland as an engineer or surveyor in spite of my qualifications. I could however get a job on a farm (I've done that too). My suggestion is valid because in many cases you get board and room at no extra cost and you have time (you wouldn't otherwise have) to find a better paying job somewhere close to where you really want to be. Maybe you could marry the farmers daughter! :lightbulb: The most beautiful (drop dead gorgeous) girl I ever saw in Finland was milking the family cow.

Ooh! Look here! You may be able to break into the tourism business with this job but it's pretty difficult to get any further from Helsinki and still be in Finland.

Being bofh would be nice, but that would mean too much interaction with lusers.

And now it seems that I have a decade's backlog of BOFHs to read... so overtime it is.
