Paternity / Shared custody

Post by Ambrosia » Mon Oct 15, 2012 11:52 am

Hey,

I've dispatched like over 10 emails to different instances, it's been one week and I have yet to receive a single reply.
Though the cost of a lawyer can vary from 150-200E per hour...it's a bit of a disgrace that they don't even reply.
Anyway to the point as I'm highly annoyed as it is, I'm coming to Finland in February - March (will need a room/house to rent in Helsinki).
But anyway my ex has sole custody of our only child, things are so bad I had to get child welfare involved...we are not married or ever where.
To paternity test she won't say yes but she won't say no either (angry at me for the child services, but that's not the real reason).
So I believe this will have to go through court where she cannot object as the judges decision overrules hers.
Correct me if I'm wrong (just using information I got in the Netherlands I'm totally not familiar with Finnish law).
What I could find out is that the case could be government funded but I'm not counting on that, as beneficial it is to the government.
As they are paying the child support right now, anyway I want to be registered as my son's father (biological, and yes I am his biological father).
And have shared custody over our child, though I might push through to get full custody as there's enough to use against her why it's harmful to our son to be with her (this would be at the end of the line).
So who the hell do I contact (email address + phone number), not sure if 3000E will cover the case so if people have been a similar situation please advice.
I need a good starting point that can give me proper advice and point me in the right direction (please provide links if possible)
Uh right, child and mother lives in Helsinki and I live in the Netherlands.

You could take contact to them:

Probably you don't get too much info from them by phone (nothing specific about the case), but it could help you to clarify the procedure to follow.

That's one of the addresses I've emailed also last week, but no reply.
Not sure how long it's supposed to take really, I'll try and call them though.
