Hi Everyone,
I have a question regarding tax and social security, If you earned for example 40,000 Euros per annum what could you expect to take home after deductions each month?
Many thanks,
Nick

Calculation of the tax rate
Basic rate 22,5
Additional rate 38,0
Withholding also includes pension and unemployment insurance premiums amounting to 5.15% and 0.6%.
Please add 5.75 percentage points to arrive at your actual withholding and to work out your actual take-home pay.

Re: Tax Question
The calculator is here http://prosentti.vero.fi/VPL2012/Sivut/ ... iedot.aspx
1st page:
1st dropdown, choose the county
2nd dropcown choose the 3rd down "ei"
3rd dropdown, choose year of birth (checks for OAP etc.)
Then bottom right "jatka"
2nd page
top left column add 40000
Bottom right "laske"
OK, so the 8985,99 is the amount of taxes that will be deducted from the 40K, making 22,5% your tax %, but it doesn't include the health insurance, so you'd need to recalculate +5.75% so 28.25%.
So with my maths you'll be making something over 2 grand in hand, but not over 2 500.
