Have you looked for work? If you have not, then there are no jobs. If you have, then you would know the answer to your question.

As long as there are young men with the light of adventure in their eyes or a touch of wildness in their souls, rapids will be run.

As CEO of Nokia you don't need Finnish, but as a cleaner you do.
Go and figure it out for yourself.

The main reason is thus>
quote from wiki
Racism is usually defined as views, practices and actions reflecting the belief that humanity is divided into distinct biological groups called races and that members of a certain race share certain attributes which make that group as a whole less desirable, more desirable, inferior or superior.[1][2][3]
It has its varying degrees depending on the where, what, who, but it comes down to the same attributes that make up racial discrimination.
And even if you are the same race for example , then the fight happens on the next common level, and so on.
This is why everyone has qualifications and speaks about qualifications as though you have been born of a certain gene or genre.
You have to deal with it or move to Sweden, lol
Hey and another thing , your quote mentions English language , well guess what, the Finnish are not English , and possibly the English speakers steamroller thoughts about how the English language takes over everything may contribute to your ability to speak English as a void point.
I would say again that your plan needs to be very good and you need help in carrying out the plan.

Wanting a cleaner to know basic Finnish has nothing to do with racism. He/she will be using chemicals that could be harmful in the long run. Guess what language the warning labels are in? Yeah, Finnish. Hire someone who doesn't know Finnish, and you relieve them of any responsibility to take care of themselves, it becomes the boss' problem. Much easier to hire someone else, someone with Finnish skills. It's not like there is a shortage of Finnish speakers to hire (in most fields). Try making hamburgers without knowing Finnish and you'll see that when you burn yourself or cut yourself, the boss is responsible for your stupidity because all the warning labels were in Finnish and you couldn't understand the training material that is given out to new workers. Again, easier to get a Finnish speaker to make the burgers.

Also, I find it highly insulting that anyone would think Finns wanting service in Finnish or Swedish, their native languages, has anything to do with racism. It's one thing if your Finnish isn't that great but you're trying. Just complaining about things and calling it racism when people don't want to hire someone that is unable to do their job or interact with the customers in a way the customers wants, that really annoys me. Fluck off to somewhere else if you don't like it.

We have gone through this !"#¤% in this forum a million times already. The unemployable moron foreigner who goes for the racist card as soon as people won't hire him/her out of some kind of pity. Morons.

Interleukin was replying to cors187, not you.

One more thing re: cleaning/communication: even a cleaner's job can involve quite a lot of interaction with customers if you're, for example, cleaning an office during office hours.

Tony, let me put this nicely. I think you're too stupid to score any job here in Finland.
Political correctness is the belief that it's possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

It just doesn't get any clearer than this.

Sorry cors187, I strongly disagree with you. There are a whole raft of people who are suffering the most terrible racism. Then you go and weaken the meaning behind the word by trying to suggest that choosing not to recruit a non-Finnish speaker is somehow "racist". That's really not helping the real fight against racism...
