I am an Asian and I have a work permit of Finland and currently working in an IT company in Helsinki. Today I got a job offer from Germany. My question is that can I use my work Schengen visa of Finland to work in Germany? While working in Germany with Finland Schengen visa, I will apply for Germany visa to stay there for a long time.
Thanks in advance

Work Schengen visa? Are you sure you don't have Residence Permit? http://www.migri.fi/working_in_finland/ ... yed_persondoforumda wrote:I am an Asian and I have a work permit of Finland and currently working in an IT company in Helsinki. German regulations I've have no idea, but surely they like the red tape as much as Finnish bureaucrats.

I mean work resident permit through which I could visit throughout Europe.

With that you can get to Germany. Working and living there is up to the local rules and legislation.doforumda wrote:I mean work resident permit through which I could visit throughout Europe.

Re: Need clarification about work permit
No, you need to apply a German permit, every country has its own work rules. You can travel within Schengen, but to stay and work you need to go through each country process separately - theres no "EU-permit" as such.My question is that can I use my work Schengen visa of Finland to work in Germany?

The EU Blue Card could be considered to be an "EU-permit".Pursuivant wrote:No, you need to apply a German permit, every country has its own work rules. (But that is unlikely to be relevant for the OP in this thread.)
