When a positive and a negative comes together, my understanding is that it short circuits?
Water doesn't conduct *that* well. It'll just evapourate it quite quickly. (but on the other hand, don't have the power on when you plug it in)
Worst case is that the fuse/circuit breaker blows.

In my car, I have a battery recharger installed, which is apparently connected to the battery as well as to the block heater socket. Should something bad happen at the socket, it might blow the battery, not just a fuse

Or at least that recharger!
Anyway, I went to check the socket this morning, and snow has all gone. Relief.

Hi helsinkiguy,
I do have the same problem what you mentioned, the problem is some thing broken in the Pole timer.
Once i come from work i used to connect the car to the timer pole, immediately my heater and fan turn on.
i will reset the timer once again by rotating one full circle of timer nab, then it will stop and next day morning it will start again as per the timer.
At least it is working in this way to me.
