Sometimes recruiters have a hidden agenda. They look for a special skill/attitude which they don't advertise (they don't want a "fake" resume written to comply) but which is considered more important than a perfect match on the other points.

I agree that when you don't fit the main requirements you'll have little chance. But you never know what they are really looking for.

No matter what is written exactly in the job advertisement, it is pretty clear what kind of job that is here, and what skills roughly are required for it.

And no matter what special skill/attitude this company might be loking for, an application from a "mid 40's housewife type ... not much of a computer person" gets immidiately discarded.

I fully agree with you that it can make sense to apply for a position when your skills are not exactly matching the requirements. But there are cases like this one where the mismatch is so huge that an application would be absurd (but sadly such applications do happen, and when you are reviewing applications you always wonder why on earth people send such applications that don't have the slightest chance).

Thank you all especially Paola...I have to work to put food on the table after illness in the family...have looked at the job and its remote which i cannot do anyway as my own computer is a 20+y o Mac and I have no fixed phone and in our house working from home is definitely impossible...its like a community centre at the quietest of times and crowded...

I'm looking for part time job with fixed hours, daytime and not too much travelling, my current positions are in outskirts Vantaa, I live near Itäkeskus and the busfares take away most of the wages...

Do not know what you do at the moment Adrian42 but I have seen more of your negative replies, your view is very limited, I know some people who have bought their first Apple at the age of 76 and can tell you more about games then me (who does not play). With your attitude we do not come anywhere and better today buy a rope or a family package Burana.

And that tells you dont have an idea what you are talking about. Apple and games dont generally mix, there are some games what work on apple but...

Yes sorry Onkko, that Apple is just an insignifcant small company that sells lowtech stuff. What I was trying to say for the more intelligent species is that at 75 they are still very interested in hightech as well as some games.

@Haatchi too bad.. I'm pretty sure they do not look for people working remotely and the company is in Ruolahti. I hope you'll be able to find something soon anyway!! Good luck with your search.
