I think I would be shocked if anyone would hire an examiner without proper qualifications and teaching experience.

0.5 points more or less in a part of the IELTS exam often decide whether someone can emigrate to Australia or continue studying in Finland. It would be completely hilarious if the people doing such examinations were not properly qualified.
