Audiophiles: Cheap but decent sounding earphones?

Post by luckykitty » Sat Feb 16, 2013 10:23 pm

Hi
I want to listen to music on the go, so basically looking for really cheap earbuds under 15e or so that I can carry around and won't worry about losing it, but it's still decent enough to listen to music with. I used to have some JVC marshmallow earbuds and the sound quality is decent but the foam keep breaking

I heard koss plugs are not good, or are they? Any experiences?

I don't need any or much bass, I just want to be able to hear music without it sounding like like it's coming out of a metal pipe or some static noise (all the phones/mp3 players always seem to come with the worse possible earbud ever).

Thanks :)
Lk

I have a pair of these. they are excellent and also cut out most background noise. They match the "audiophile" part of your post but not the "really cheap" part.

Ouch yeah :)
Shure, shure makes great stuff, tho its not cheap :D
i want something to put in my bag, and dont mind losing/breaking. not that i want that to happen, but if it was a 80e earphone, it would be a bit much.

Hijacking the thread: what to get as replacement to Sennheiser 595's? I don't need better sound, would like as good though, but I do need and want better construction. I'm done with this plastic crap. New ones should be as nice to wear too, so definitely circumaural and open or semi open. I won't be using a dedicated amp, so below 100 ohms. I've been eyeballing AKGs, but I've started to wonder if I just should get 10x cheaper Superlux's and get velour pads for them... again. I've got 669s with AKG's pads to replace 280 pro's that got cracked... that plastic...

You can get Sennheisers for about 10eur in Stockmann and Clas Ohlson. Sony ones are about the same from there too.

I would rather go for this ones Plantronics BackBeat GO Wireless Stereo Bluetooth. No cables to be bothering .

I have Sennheiser PX 360. no plastic crap, they are designed for the outside, durable, foldable and genrally super nice. I am not an expert, only a happy user.

For the price these well blow away any other models 3 times the price. You can pick them up online for about 50-55 euro.
