Moi,

Yes 500 Euros is quite a sum. But i have Entrance examinations in April that i must attend so the date is set for my arrival.

I am working until i get to Finland, but my money will only last for so long. I must get a job if i wish to stay in finland long term.

Thankyou everyone who has posted, i'm sure i'll find a way!

Kittos.

It is half of the price of a return ticket to Australia...

And you will additionally have to pay for whatever accommodation you will have during that time.

Chances of finding work in Finland are low for you, chances of finding work in Australia are high.

Salaries in Australia are higher than in Finland.

That is a gamble. You might be very lucky, or you might in one year no longer have the € 6000 in your bank account for applying for the next year of your residence permit.

Yeah, don't forget the - its actually risen - 6800 euros in the bank + health insurance. And that needs to be shown every year. And its after-the-fact "proof" and not "I wish I hope I intend" but "is there"...

Oh, I missed it was increased.

But it seems to be slightly less than what you quoted, only € 6720.
