Questions about moving to Finland(Finnish passport holder)

Hello,

I am considering moving to live Finland for family reasons, I have a Finnish passport since my mom is Finnish.
I am planning to work till the beginning of the next year studies in universities (september 2014).

Do I need to register in the police?
Can I get "Labour Market Subsidy" till i find work?

You register at the maistraatti where you find a place to live, as a "return" emigrant. Then you can start the battle of getting onto the KELA. As you are s Finn, you're supposed to know everything and fit nicely into the boxes, so you might face a number of "things everybody knows but nobody tells you"

Pursuivant : I am a Finn but i dont really know how things work in Finland. So if u have some advices i would be glad especially for the part "things that everyone knows but no one will tell you".

How long does it usually take to get the Kela Card?
What is the amount of money i should expect from the labour market subsidy?

At the moment i will move to the house that my parents own, but i cant stay there for too long. I am going to apply also for council housing, do you guys have any idea how long usually it takes to get a house?

Why is your highest priority to leech social security benefits?

Initially you sounded more as if you were looking for a job - and that would also allow you to afford a normal apartment like other working people.

BTW, why aren't you starting your studies this year?

I need to work now so I can save some money. I would try to rent apartment like normal people would do, but at the moment I cant afford it, the prices of the rents are really high.
If it was up to me ,I wouldn't move to Finland at all, it doesnt sound as the perfect situation to move abroad, but for family reasons , I have to.

Why?

Government support for students who are Finnish citizens is pretty good.
And affordable housing is provided for students.

As soon as you get a job the rent is affordable - even in Helsinki tiny apartments are available for only € 500-600.

Compared to many other people moving to Finland you are incredible lucky that you have a Finnish passport, so please stop this whining that you are the victim of bad circumstances.
