Hi guys!
Dont know if anyone else asked about this matter but I would like to know if I can visit UK as a tourist with my Finnish residency permit. I am a Turkish citizen and I have a one-year permit. Turkish citizens are not allowed in the UK without a visa, and UK is not in the Schengen area...
Kiitos
UK visit w/ Finnish residency

I think the answer must be no. WHen I went to the UK they didn't care at all about where I lived, they looked at my passport to determine whether I had the right to enter the UK as a tourist.
As a Turkish citizen you are required to have a visa, I don't think a Finnish residence permit will change that.

Yes you need a visa, Finnish RP is good only to travel within Schengen. If you are married to a Finn/EU citizen, you can also apply for what is known an "EEA family permit" - but that has restrictions like you need to be travelling hand-in-hand all the time and it seems to be more geared towards people immigrating. The only waiver is for non-EU schoolchildren with residence in EU on class trips.
