Buying an scooter board

Hello I have been thinking to buy an electric scooter board similar to these:

But I am confused with few traffic/registration issues in http://www.trafi.fi/tieliikenne/ajokort ... _nelipyora:
- to which class of vehicle an electric scooter board will fall into?
- do I need to get a name plate for such a scooter?
- I am planning to use it only on the cycle path and not on street/road.

Can anyone with some experience throw some light on this please ....

You can't ride such a contraption on any public roads (which includes bicyle paths), so you can only twirl in your livingroom.... basically, anything powered that is not approved (and taxed) is banned.... seen any Segways? Nuff said.

You could probably ride one of those bikes the French seem to use often. They have a very small electric motor attached to a normal bike. I was told they work like this, you pedal up to a speed and hit a button (or something that initiates the electric motor which is near on silent) and the electric motor takes over, they dont go that fast but your not going any faster than a bike, there near on silent and I'm pretty sure no one would take any notice of you so long as you stuck to the bike paths and didnt go Grand Theft Auto on anybody in the walking lane. Just my 2 cents.

I actually have seen a segway in Espoo. Going down the sidewalk. I figured they aren't so popular here due to the cost and how it wouldn't be too fun to use in the winter.

Ministry of transportation classes it as a motor vehicle. So it is just as ok to drive it down the sidewalk as car and moped.

I've ridden a Segway here, but it was in a car park. If they're only allowed to go where mopos can go then I can see why they wouldn't catch on (in addition to price). Wouldn't fancy riding one in motor traffic!

And it should be registered and with proper lights and signalling equipment...
