I was overseas when the news came out so I'm kind of still lost about all this. You used to get a gift box and if it was under 45 euros you'd not have to pay any fees or anything. Now it's like 20 euros including shipping or something?
My birthday is coming up and my parents are as confused about this new rule as I am. Can anyone clarify this for me? I know it took effect in January 2013.
Thanks a bunch!
Kat

I normally get food from America, that's about it. No electronic anything. If that helps

Re: Customs and taxing gifts?
Thanks! Does the 22 euros include shipping or just the stuff in the box? Also how do they know it's under 22 euros, I guess sticking the receit in the box might be helpful.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Re: Customs and taxing gifts?
45 euros is still valid for gifts (not things you bought online or otherwise). At least I read the text so that 45 euro limit applies to the contents (before/without postage)

thanks for the input!

It would be useful if you could always check from the original source what the YLE reports. In this case it is easy.ilikepeanutbutter wrote: http://yle.fi/uutiset/customs_law_takes ... es/6641624
