Hi, I have lived in Helsinki for around 5 months and have worked from my apartment, however it is making me go insane!!
I am looking to keep costs down as I am back in the UK, a lot, but does anyone have any spare office/desk/work space that they would be interested in letting me rent?
I am 29 from Liverpool, UK.... I need somewhere fairly close to the city (as I don't know my way around yet!)
Any help or reccommendations would be great!
Thanks, Chris

shout out your looking for a desk in the facebook thread .
I remember one of the speakers has an office and openly invited others to ask him about sharing the common office.

Ha, I know that guy who was talking at that event, a cool British guy. Send me a mail at kalevi.kurronen (at) gmail.com. I'll hook you up with him. His office space is in Kallio, downtown. It's a sweet location. His place is hooked up with the all high tech gear you'd need.

Hi cjbn1878!
I moved to Finland a couple of years ago and I was a bit like you, working from home and desperate to take out my pyjamas and go out. For me that was not only important to take some fresh air but to start meeting people and melting with the city.
While I was looking I considered these 2 options:
1. I found some shared shared working space in Punavuori, many freelancers (photographers/designers/architects etc.) where using these but it wasn’t really easy for me to find them, you could ask in Aalto University, they probably know some places or even do search on facebook, there I found lots of co-working spaces. The main disadvantage: they asked me to rent the work space for a long period of time
2. The other option for me was to rent and office monthly in business centres such as Regus. A friend of mine recommended me this option (you can rent during the time, hours, days, weeks you need) at the beginning it worked really good for me, it wasn’t too expensive and the offices I found were in nice areas although they weren’t really close to my house (it’s impossible to have everything right?
). Here you can get a shared office or a private one, i took the shared to get to talk to someone ;p and they provided me with Internet.
If you need some other advice or anything, contact me! I hope I helped you!
