If you give birth in Finland while you are here as a tourist, your child does not get a Finnish social security number. The people in the maternity hospital will give you a paper where it's written that a baby is born, you need to take this to your embassy and register the child in your own country's computers so that it can get a citizenship. The child will be a tourist in Finland, it will not have any special rights even if it was born here.
If you are flying to Finland, you might want to consider that most airlines won't want to have you travel with them if you are very far along in your pregnancy.

Helsinki and Espoo (part of the same public hospital area/group)

I guess they'll take you in regardless if you're already in labor, but otherwise about five years ago at least they wanted an 3500 € advance payment (afterwards billing for additional costs if necessary, giving refund if the actual costs were less). Then 3500 would have been about the cost of cesarean section (without further complications), while about 2000 would had been sufficient for uncomplicated vaginal birth.

I'm told that Tammisaari used to be quite a popular place for Russians to give birth.
